So i know that i am a day behind and all, but today is a great day.... Why.. because its friday and almost everyone loves friday. And because my friend yan AKA cooper is commin to visit tonight. It is awesome.. I am soo excited. I dont know, same old thing going on around here, but there is also something magical. Right now, my roomate beth and my friend kerry are fighting over Pete who is a lambda because they both want him to take them to his formal and they arent taking no as an answer. It was quite an interesting lunch when the comment was "Pete listen here, you have two options.... Take me or die" hahaha. Its funny because its a joke that is going on.
Today it's really nice outside and thats all i can think about is the luck that i have latly. I mean my friends from home, god how i miss them so much. Its hard to be away from them for so long expecially when u are home, you spend every day together, no exceptions haha. And here its going really well too. Not going to lie, there are proubaly alot of people that second guess this school, but things are going really well. I have made some new friends that are amazing and learned to let go on alot of things that were making me up. so thank you guys for everying and you girls back at home, God ill see u soon hahaha Peace and love hommies

Pages 17-23 on radio.
i like the thought of the mic and where you have to keep it. I didnt really think of an idea like that till i read it. I didnt think that it would make a big different if you were 4 or 8 or 12 inches from a persons face. And i didnt know that you have to record the sounds that are in the back round before so u can edit them out later. I remember that you tought us about breath sounds in the audio too. I remember learning alot about that in highschool, with different pitches when i was editing the video tape. I like that once they show you how the professonials do it, then they explain how you can do it as well.

Well journal, today is the best day of my life i think. For a little over 4 years, my mom was struggling with breast and liver cancer. Not going to lie, but we have really had our ups and downs with her. My mom knows i love her, but things were really bad for awhile. Anyways, I got a phone call today from my mom crying. Usually, i alwasy thought that was bad, but today...... it was different. My mom said that she went to the doctor and the doctor said that my mom went into remission. For all those who dont know what that means.... it means she doesnt have any more cancer in her cells that they can see right now. This is the best news that i have had in 4 years.... MY MOM IS OK!!! she is soo strong and i just home that all people that have cancer can one day get the same news that my mom got because all people deserve that. THANK YOU GOD

This post is going to be used for two days. Pages 7 -17 of Radio.
I think that it is interesting that this guy is going into an interview with really no questions. He just want to get to three main points that will create the whole interview. I always thought that people wrote down questions incase they got stuck on something and needed some more guidence. I think that Ira is a little crazy just going into an interview and not having any questions to ask the interviewee. He just scribbles little ideas on a piece of paper that might get him somewhere. Thats crazy. I like that you work hand in hand with the person being interviewed, like you have to lead them to whereever you want them to go. If you want them to open up, you have to open up too. This isnt a one sided show. And i believe that he is right when he says that radio is a very visual medium and you need to show your listener what had happened. Its really interesting that you have to get all the little details of the story for it to fit together so well. Without those details that dont seem really big, the listener wouldnt really be interested because you cant get that visual picture in your head. I think that this comic book is really great for a person who really isnt sure about things. I like that this american life does their show different from everyone else because they can and think that it is better that way than any other thing. All the things that this comis book is tellin us is really awesome. I never really thought that this much work went into some audio, but i also think that it is really cool that so much detail is put into something like this as well.

Radio Comic This is the web site that we are reading the comic off of. If you have read it, you will know that it is the story of how This American Life decides what shows are going to be used. I think that it is awesome they way that some of these things work. I mean you have to be really creative to this of different topics all the time. Its really cool that you can listen to all these people's stories and then decide what type of show that you want to case. Even if a story doesn't sound good at the beginning, if you use your imagination like the people of this show, you could probably use it later. I like that this American life talks about things that aren't talked about in the normal news or media. They tell stories about things that all people might experience, but never really talk about them or twist the stories because they like to keep there listeners on the radio for a long time. This is a great point, that they think through how they are going to say things so that people are interested in the story for a long period of time.
Even though some people might think that with radio that you just jump on and start doing your thing, there is a lot more to do there. Sound checks as well as different run troughs so that every second is used to the best of its ability. They also talk through every thing to make sure that they are going to keep people on the edge and they are going to work with them so that all the listeners stay interested.

Just wanted to start out in saying that I hope that everyone had a great valentines day. MY sister Andrea was my date. SO cute. But there is something that is more important right now that I would like to talk about.
I had to go home for a funeral this weekend. This post is for her. Rosemary was a friend of mine, but a best friend to danielle and katie. From the story that I am told(sorry if it is a little off), Rosemary was 6 months pregnant and started to have convolutions ( I cant spell) on Monday. She went to the hospital to get medicine which stopped it for the day. When she went home that night, she broke the news to her parents that she was pregnant, but you couldn't even tell that she was. Of course that were upset, but were going to deal with it. When Rosemary woke up on Tuesday, she started having more seizures and they couldn't stop them. They rushed her to the hospital and realized that she had a blood clot in her heart. The doctors knew that they had to get the baby out so they performed a seisection. One the baby was out, they started to work on Rosemary's heart. They worked for over a hour, but it was too late. She had died. Im not tellin you this story so that you can be upset or anything like that, but just to know that Rosemary meant a lot to the people that knew her. Rosemary was only 18. Rosemary, wherever you are, I hope that you are happy and safe and well, we all miss you.
Its hard to loose someone, many of us know that. Just please think of her in your heart and remember that life is very fragile so be careful and Carpe diem........ live life to the fullest

You are So Beautiful To Me If you listen to the first few minutes of teh audio line, its really funny because there is this amazing song, but the words only say, you are so beautiful to me.... but not to anyone else. Hahaha i think that it was funny because people are just to critical about the things that are going on. The woman that is on the show is funny because it took her 5 years to pay off the bird and now its the most annoying thing for her and she has gotten used to this bird after 23 years. I understand how this woman is feeling because this bird it attacking her kids because the kids are invaiding the birds space. However, she cant get rid of the bird because she is to attacked to them. You can see that people can get to attached to things and it is hard for people to give up on those things that are to close to you. Its good to hear things like that and you understand the bond that occurs between the owner and the pet.
Detectives This story is really cool to me because it talks about how a girl wants to be a private eye at age 11, but her dream was trashed after she found out that they only wanted men. The way that the music is being used, makes you think of your childhood again and what it feels like to have that dream of wanting to be a detective when u were younger. It was fun to make pretend of the little things that you always thought were so big. The music during the first verse was used to heighten the stories that he had studied. I think that it was interesting that this guy describes in great detail the thoughts that had crossed his mind. When he describes these things, he finds out all this infromation about his mom. However, it was just boring after awhile because the music wasnt present and it was just one guy talking over and over again where you start to get uninterested.

So today is Sunday and just finished rugby a couple of hours ago. You know when you start to hurt the next morning after a really hard practice. Well, im hurting already... dont get me wrong, rugby is the best sport to me. The tackling, statagies, drinkin, ball handeling, and of course drinkin. What more can a person ask for? But this weekend is even a better story that i think i have to share with all of you. I was wondering why a guy on thurday would say that he wanted to take you to dinner and then when u see him friday night, he is going home with another girl? hmmmmmm. Dont get me wrong, i already thought that nothing was going to really happen between the two of us, so im not upset about the actual guy at all, im pissed about the way that this guy handled this type of situations. Me= "Are you walkin her home or are you walkin her home and then going to hook up with her?" Him= "Well i don't know, I like u alot, but i dont really know u and im really drunk and i was wondering if we can still be friends?" What in gods good name is that supposed to be? Apology, excuse, make me feel better, and trying to fix the situation all in one? Kills me that that actually happened. I dont think that all guys are this way at all, there is a select few that aren't and im sure that guys feel the same way, i hear about it all the time. Im not sayin that i am perfect in any way, but what i am saying is how do people say things they dont plan on following threw, just be honest with them (except for some of those things that you dont share with people..... ex. "Excuse me for a second, i have to shit") and it really will make a difference. So for all those people out there who have had a situation like the Me and him conversation, congradulations.... your human, but if you are anything like me, you would wish that some people would just get a lil bit of common sense before that start to talk to someone. And feel better, its the season of love where Valentines day is afoot. And last thing, you will see an audio link that is going to be posted after this post all about the opinion of fashion at denison university. I hope everyone enjoys.

Now that we have to write every day that we are in school till the end of the year, its going ot be pretty interesting the things that we can come up with. It's was just that weekend folks where all the greeks are bussy getting thier houses together and recruiting all their members. I dont hate against them at all dont get me wrong. Its just that time where all of us non greek people get together and do our thing. I went to eat with two of my friends the other night, i definatly dont suggest indian food ever. Its not something for us people who just enjoy a simple sandwich and fries from some chain food resturant or even those folk who want steak and potatoes, pretty much the whole population. But hey whatever floats your boat, i guess its always something new to try.... Well time for me to go, gotta train for rugby season. It starts this sunday and you know everyone wants to be there.... more updates on the rugby thing soon
